It's time for our new challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are 'The Earth Laughs in Flowers' and 'Summertime'. As always there are wonderful prizes to be won at both.
Naturally me being me Summer says flowers so that had to be the theme for my Penny Black creation. When I started this one I actually thought I had the matching die for this Iris, but turned out I didn't and the Iris die PB make is for another stamp. But as I had the design in my head went ahead and stamped first the Iris's within the frame using Spectrum Sparkle Pens to ink the stamp spritzing with water and stamping several times onto the Pan Pastel background. I then stamped the Iris's a couple more times and cut them out by hand and placed them onto the top frame and also added a PB sentiment. The card is for a friend who loves all things pink and Iris's, we are similar ages and I think along with the sentiment will appeal to her.
I've had this Crafty Individuals stamp for years, mine is wood mounted whereas the newer version is unmounted and part of a set. It's not a large stamp so I stamped it three times to extend the field of Poppies, added some sky using Pan Pastels, a sentiment and leaves to frame the top.
Looking forward to seeing your creations this month and please do pop over to the challenge blogs as my team mates have some beautiful creations to share.
Gorgeous cards both, beautiful and lovely;-))m

Ooohhh... Both your cards are a joy for the eyes!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing iris, and yes, this cars glamorous itself!! Fabulous pink shades, wonderful sun with rays and the iris's look really wonderful!!! My attempts about spritzing with water on stamps didn't come out well, perhaps I put too much water, or my spry bottle isn't enough good... I will have another try.
Love so much your fussy cut, it gives a lot of dimension to the card, as well the thin green border on the inside of the window. I'm sure that your friend will LOVE this card so very much!!
The landscape card makes me smile, how peaceful and serene summer feel!! Love all the poppies in the country, they look very beautiful!!! Great stamp extension, I haven't seen the three stamping times before reading :)
Have a sweet Sunday in your heaven corner, hope that sun is shining and you could enjoy your fabulous garden!
Hugs
Both brilliant cards, Brenda! I had a close look at the poppies card and the repeat is flawless! xx
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely Brenda and your joined up stamping of the poppies is perfect!! xx
ReplyDeleteThese are 2 amazing cards. I love them both for different reasons, those backgrounds are stunning xx
ReplyDeleteBoth gorgeous cards but really love the gorgeous iris stamp ours are practically finished.
ReplyDeletecarol x
Both stunners, Brenda but I love that first one and the subtle colours you used. You cut those irises out beautifully - I'd never have guessed. I have that one, I think - I have a few, so don't really know which is which, apart from size. But it's a gorgeous design.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is gorgeous in a totally different way...poppy fields are such a delight and this is a perfect example of one. We have a lot of poppy 'patches' at the moment around the main roads and they are such a treat as you approach them. They're usually with cornflowers, though - which are possibly my favourite wildflowers and my absolute favourite colour...seeing them together really makes me smile from ear to ear!
Lovely work.

Two beautiful cards, how wonderfully you put the poppies stamp to use by stamping multiple times to created that gorgeous scene! And your fussy cutting looks perfect. It may be just me, but I personally prefer fussy cutting over the use of matching dies. I never get them lined up correctly.
ReplyDeleteBoth your cards are fabulous Brenda, from the gorgeous Iris' to the amazing scene you've created with the poppy field x
