I had these ladies on a Rice Paper sheet so decided the eras were about right for my Granny and Mum and this may well have been how they dressed for a night out. I covered the 6 x 8 canvas with gesso and then stippled some texture paste, when dry I lightly sponged DI's around the edges. Next I added the cut out ladies and their respective dates, stamped an Inkylicious sentiment and some leaves using a CB stencil and DI.
There's lots of inspiration to be seen from my team mates over at the challenge blog so please do pop over and show them some love.

Fabulous card Brenda, love seeing these ladies with their retro dresses! And the rice paper technique is delicious with them! I have to try this technique, it's on my "wish to do" list! :D
ReplyDeleteHope that your holidays are going well, the sun is shining and you are relaxing and feeling good!

ReplyDeleteExcellent, Brenda - love the idea of stippling texture paste...h'mm! I have those words, too and still haven't used them, but I will!
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a lovely break and come back totally refreshed and 'rarin to go'!

Those ladies look so elegant! It would have been interesting to add a third lady dressed in 70's gear for the third generation. Would be quite a contrast in styles... Hope you're having a great time! xx

ReplyDeleteA really lovely card Brenda reminds me a little bit of the old dress patterns that you could get. Very elegant though. Super background and colours. Do you remember when they used to say "Red and green should never be seen except upon a fool? I don't know why because they do go so well together.
ReplyDeleteI think it was all down to Jesters.

Lovely canvas Brenda, the 1955 looks right to me although I was just 15 and had my first pair of "drainpipe" trousers which scandalised the older ladies!
