Toasties and bubbles up in the treehouse

Morning Peeps, a quick post with a couple of cards for the current Butterfly Challenge where the theme is a Butterfly and the option of margins or the colour mint and the Snippets Playground where Easter celebrations are in full swing.

I heard that Parsnip is toasting hot cross buns in the tree house and I have my usual supply fresh from M&S to smuggle in, bring our own glasses though as I reckon it's going to be popular and I can't abide those plastic glasses they dish lukewarm water out in at lunchtime.

So my top card is my Butterfly share, I created the background with acrylic paint and a harlequin stencil and used the same colours to pain some card which I stamped and cut out with a Heartfelt set, added a black border across the middle using a TL border die, some ribbon and a TL Butterfly also painted with the same paints.

I am still on a mission to use up my snippets of Fabriano, I am getting really low on it and need to order some more but have told myself I first need to use up all the odds and ends. I used Brushos to create the background and a Sweet Poppy stencil and black paste for the thistles. The sentiment is also from Sweet Poppy.

Have a good Wednesday all, it's pretty dull and chilly here and the forecast for Easter is not promising, but I have a load of TL samples to finish for next week so along with catering for visitors am likely to be busy.

  1. Wow Brenda your first in the Butterfly net this time and what a beauty I have caught. Colours are devine and love those flowers. Butterfly is one I do not recognise but he looks gorgeous against the harlequin design background.
We have had butterflies in the garden already drying their wings out on the spring flowers. Thankyou for fluttering by and your card will be entered into the challenge twice. hugs Mrs A.

  2. Hi Brenda

Mmm, Parsnip just passed me a toast hot cross bun . . . yummy!

Loving both these wonderful creations. I really must get my Brushos out this weekend and play with them. Good idea to get some black paste and squeeze it through that lovely stencil.

    Right . . . I've got my glass with me . . . where's those bubbles?

    Hugs, Sarn xxx

Pretty dull up here too - sun forecast for Friday and then rain for the rest of the easter weekend. Got my glass at the ready and I'll meet you up the Treehouse later xx

I have been busy experimenting with some of the stamps you sent me once...
I am not a stamper yet but I want to be! ;D It was fun. And I´ver seen how
well you can use them in so many ways but I always find it so difficult before.
    Maybe I am learning now.

    Have a wonderful day!

  29. Totally love the colours on these two cards Brenda, especially with all the black, two gorgeous designs.
So disappointed, when you said toasties, I thought Parsnip was making cheese and onion toasted sandwiches, to be honest I have no idea what M&S hot cross buns or anyone else's hot cross buns are like as I do not like current, raisins, sultana's, never have Christmas cake, mince pies, have been known to have the odd current teacake, if you are hard pressed to find the currents, and then I pick out the ones that I do find.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

  50. Had seen these 2 wonderful creations earlier, but not time to leave a comment. Caught up a mite, so back I come to say how beautiful each one is. Love the floral bouquet trimming that chic black lacy border, and like the way the colors have melded together, and look great over the harlequin background. Yummy. Of course I hafta love that gorgeous brusho background with the silhouette dark stenciling. Very dramatic (and at first thought it was a Lavinia stamp until I read the post). What an eye for arrangement of the different elements you have! TFS & have a great week - Hugs
