One for the girls and one for the boys

Afternoon Peeps, I'm not even going to mention the bank holiday weather, suffice to say I was more than a little pleased that I had a Tattered Lace delivery Saturday to get stuck into ready for next Tuesdays shows on Create and Craft.

I can't share yet, but as always there are some yummy new products and not just dies either, so in the meantime I have a couple of cards to share for the Snippets Playground..............I know Di, twice into the playgound in less than a week, can it last I wonder or will I fall off the swing, time will tell.

The card at the top uses a Nicecrane image, I so love these art deco ladies with their stylish dogs. The DP's are all scraps of G45 DP, I don't remember the name of the design set but I can never bring myself to part with the bits and pieces of any G45 and have an increasing mound of them. I made some roses using a TL spiral rose die along with some die cut leaves which I lightly inked whilst still in the die and looped ribbon - the inside loops from a summer top...........the ribbons been used but the top is still waiting for Summer !

My second card uses scraps which I think might be Kaiser DP's, I cut lots of hexagons using a Sizzix die and arranged them into a pattern across the card, I saw something along these lines on Pinterest once and thought it made a great card for the guys. Next I stamped a Penny Black sentiment and cut the banner shape with dies, tied some twine and fixed to the top. A really quick card to make, in fact cutting the hexagons is the most time consuming part but it's a great way to use up scraps.

Have a good week all.

  13. Hi Brenda
Yes as usual the last Bank Holiday before Christmas is a complete wash out. I have spent the day with net flicks and my ironing!
Love the cards today. I am the same with G45 papers, I love how they smell too. The male card is a brilliant way of using the scraps you can't bear to throw away.
    Take care

  16. The first card is so elegant. Gorgeous image and your roses are fabulous. The second is great too, love the way you placed the hexagons, the colours are so vibrant and cheerful. It must be so nice to receive a box of goodies, like Christmas every couple of weeks. I am sure you will make some amazing samples with them. Michelle x

  24. Two gorgeous cards Brenda! LOVE the first one, like Kath I can never get my flowers to stick together properly - time for another try. Wonderful papers you used - I think I have one solitary pack (which I'll go and sniff after this!). Perfect hexagon card too - I struggle with cards suitable for chaps and this is a great design to keep in mind.

Super to see you in the Playground again - and I did smile today about your little Poppy-dog. So funny that she keeps the labs under her thumb/paw :)

    Hugs

  41. They're both fab Brenda! I love any art deco and the ladies in their pretty dresses have always been a favourite for me, must dig my Kanban lady stamps out and ink them up for a change.
The second one is perfect for the pests as they never want anything sparkly and mine is suspicious of ribbon at times, they do test us don't they lol! I don't see anything wrong with a little sparkle but the only time I'm allowed to add it is at Christmas! Don't talk about the weather, it feels like fall right now and I hate the dark nights Karen x

  42. Goodness this week has flown by in a blur and I don't know how I missed this lovely post with these gorgeous cards in it. Love them both, the gorgeous art deco lady and scraps of G45 papers look great - thought I was the only one keeping G45 bits and bobs - and the hexagonal pattern for the male card works wonderfully.
