New Tattered Lace sneak peeks

Good morning Peeps.

Apologies I am still rather quiet, the internet is still not back to rights, but the main reason I am MIA is because I've had my head down making samples for the upcoming Tattered Lace 2nd Anniversary event which kicks off on Friday 13th on Create and Craft. There are lots of shows coming up next week and I understand there is going to be the added bonus of free postage as well.

When I saw the dies I would be working with I instantly visualised the card at the top and set about creating the background with distress inks, grunge paste and some stencils. I cut the blossom branch die twice and snipped one into two to enable me to get a wider spread of the branches and then added the blossoms which I made with a small craft punch, the same ink and some pearl stamens. The border is one from the Lace Medallion set, it's a brilliant set which matches the dies and has a large 190 square folder, two borders and a corner one as well. I inked the border lightly to coordinate, added some ribbon and liquid pearls.

For the second card I used the outer section of the circle die which you can see in the picture above, cut in half and placed on a piece of DP, then added a panel down the middle embossed with the large folder in the set mentioned above which I edged with black borders cut with the top border die in the above photo. I think this border die is my favourite from this set, it's so delicate. I machined round the edge of a piece of plain white card as the base and added some black silk ribbon across the center and some pearls to embellish.

I have lots more cards in the making and will be sharing more in a few days. I have to say that as a self confessed stampaholic I am really rather enjoying this new challenge of creating with Stephanie's gorgeous dies and want to say a big thank you for inviting me to join your team.

Have a good Wednesday.

  41. Love the Tattered Lace dies but have been afraid to start with them - so expensive and intricate. I worry that I won't be able to get the cut paper out of the die. Yours looks wonderful and I also see a little bit of mixed-media work - beautiful! NancyD
