Time for our monthly challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are Winter Wonderland and Special Occasions which can include Christmas.
The card at the top is my Stamping Sensations piece, although it would equally with Penny Black as well as it uses the new Natures Friends 30-271 stamp set.......same as yesterday, just a different scene.....it was a set I had to have the moment I saw it. The trees have two layers and on and this one I stamped the base image black and then the second embossed with detail silver to give a frost feel. As usual it's Pan Pastels for the landscape and sky, a hand drawn fence and some silver glitter onto the overhanging trees.
Not one to join in challenges as you all know, but I couldn't resist entering the one at the top into this months Craft a Scene Challenge which is 'Winter Scenes', I used to be part of the DT and used to love the opportunity to create scenic artwork but had to give it up when my health went on one of it's downward spirals a year or more ago.
My Penny Black DT piece uses a recently acquired stamp 3073K Brush Rose, it's quite an oldie which for some reason I never bought before, I inked it with distress markers and spritzed with water before stamping several times. Some random script stamping into background, two butterflies from Penny Black 30-117 Free Flight and the sentiment is Penny Black 3851 Blessings.
And I have one more Stamping Sensations piece, this time using Chocolate Baroque stamps Decorative Edges and Let Your Heart Sing. The background was crated by masking a moon and brushing over Glimmer Mists and Dylusions, then stamping the bird and bush stamp once, then cleaning it and masking out the bird before inking again to stamp a second time to extend the design. Quite a lot of glitter to get the impression of icicles, plus some snow and finally white Frantage around the edges. The sentiment is Penny Black.
As always we have some fabulous prizes to be won at both challenges so I really hope you will join in.
Your cards are so festive Brenda, I do love a touch of blue on Christmas cards. You certainly have some amazing prizes over at the challenges..thanks so much. I hope your Christmas preps are going smoothly, we hope to get our tree up today. So exciting xx

Hi Brenda, all three are very beautiful, I love the scenes and the roses. I just did a test at my blog and a comment went through without the verification, must have been a glitch in blogger? I hope you are doing well, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteWow Brenda! These are all so amazing! I love your butterfly card, but I have to admit, I'm in a Christmassy mood, so the gorgeous winter scenes are looking so serene and dreamy to me right now! big hugs :)
ReplyDeleteOh Brenda I don't know how you do it, three more gorgeous cards, I love your winter scenes and I think I might have to have those lovely animal stamps, but most of all I absolutely love the butterfly and rose card, just beautiful
ReplyDeleteJoan x
Wow Brenda, your blog is always a treat to visit, so many gorgeous projects. I'm just playing catch up after a hectic few weeks during which my crafty mojo has vanished so thanks for the inspiration
ReplyDeleteClaire xx
Hello Brenda, your last creations are wonderful as always, love them all. Thanks for your hint concerning the word verification. I found out, that you can ignore it, seems it's just a "gimmick" from blogger, don't know why, but the comment is shown without typing the numbers.
ReplyDeleteEvery one a winner in my book, they are all superb :o)
ReplyDeleteIt seems that you can ignore the verication and you comment will post as normal, so I will leave mine as it is. I do not like the embedded method as it take much longer to open than the pop up boxes!
Jackie xx
These are gorgeous. Love the scene with the deer. Thanks for your kind comment and letting me know that word verification was on on my blog. I am having trouble turning it off as I couldn't find the 'embedded' option you were talking about. It is set as 'off' on my blog, but obviously isn't LOL. I am trying to solve the problem but any more hints gratefully received. Maybe if I change my comment view from a pop up to thiss style?? May try that. Oh, just read Silvia's comment above. How silly is that! Off to see if that works. Thanks Silvia. Hugz
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Brenda! I have been having real issues with blogger for the last couple of days and I was sure it was just me lol! I have now updated the comment setting and am hoping it has sorted itself now. A second visit to look at these as I popped over on the weekend but was rushing to do other things! All of them are truly stunning and so very gorgeous! The first is my absolute favourite as I have such a love of landscapes. Karen x
ReplyDeleteTwo stunning winter scenes here Brenda. So glad you joined us for out last month at Craft A Scene.

I'm playing catchup tonight, and oh what a joyful treat I got when I popped in here. I'm especially over the moon about that woodland snow scene. It's very spectacular. Love the branches hanging from the top with all the white snow, ditto those lovely trees. Then I get down to the roses card, and am awed again. It's beautiful, love those soft colors with just the hint of a background script. Then yet another icy scene. I really like the way you've done the top treatments on both these winter scene cards and used those branches the way you have to draw the eye right in. Well done. TFS & Hugs. Happy if you enjoyed the lights tour round our house.
ReplyDeletethese are all gorgeous brenda! love your new blog header; so wintery.
