Am I in Aussie ?

The title says's it all about one of the cards I designed for tomorrows Stamp Addicts programme at 2pm on Create and Craft........................I made it upsidedown !

I didn't actually realise until I saw a photo of it on Sarah's blog showing it opening from the left and initially thought it had come adrift in the post, but no I added that gorgeous Noel sentiment upside down so am totally mortified as there's not time to get another one to her. If she decides it's worth using it on the show they will all be having a laugh at my expense, but I've a good sense of humour so will laugh with them for being such an ninny.

So here it is.....card the right way up, sentiment upside down and what miffs me the most is that this is probably my favourite card from all the samples I made for this show.

The backing panel was embossed with a swirl folder and them lots of lovely gilding wax in gold and red, the sentiment stamped onto black gloss cardstock and old gold perfect pearls dusted over.

And here is the left handed photo with the sentiment the right way up.

Bodge up apart, I really love this sentiment, it's so elegant and I think it will get lots of use........hopefully the right way up.

The card at the top uses the tree stamp from the Holly Christmas stamp sheet, stamped with black archival ink and then brayered to create the sky and foreground.

Have a good evening everyone, I've not managed to get into blogland today as it's been busy at work, but hopefully I will find some time later.

  5. It happen to us all Brenda. I spent ages making a card the other day and because the front had a lot of embellishments I had added the insert first. On opening the card the insert was upside down. I ended up having to remove the front of the card and mat it onto a slightly bigger card blank - LOL.

  36. Hehe well it's nice to know that even the most accomplished of crafters have a little bodge job every now and then, I actually don't think it takes anything away from the card opening the other way around though and it's a stunning card either way, I can see why you love the sentiment, the background and rich colours are gorgeous too

  37. The whole design is terrific - & I'm so glad you are human & not a robot! The whole decadent look of that card - I can well understand it being your favourite. Super the way your lace trim on the first picks out the snowflakes on the trees too.

  38. HI Brenda, I love the blue/white background you created for the pretty Christmas/snowflake trees. It's funny about attaching NOEL upside down, I think it would be easy to do with those ornate letters, beautiful design either way! I hope you are having a great day, Shirleyx

  39. ah B. your post title really puzzled me at first as wondered what a snow picture had to do Oz? and especially as it didn't look upside down!!

then scrolled down and it was made clear!!
Mind you it is such fussy stamp think you can be forgiven.. What sort of swirls folder is that as it did not come up in my various searches thought it looked Baroque and tried that too.. the TH one is bit like it, but distressed like TH are, which this one is not?? it is just stunning. I have never tried wax either but would love to know name/maker of folder if not discontinued, please B.?
I will send an email. love Shaz in oz.x

  55. Love your Noel card no matter which way it goes up that background is stunning. Now I'm trying to work out from your title whether it relates to your snowy card and it being winter in Oz or that we are a bit back to front down here, lol.

  56. Gorgeous nodal card, but I also love the snowflake trees and the lace on the first one :-) I do that all the time, sticking the front on upside down. So annoying! Xxx
