Deco Delights and this weeks candy

Saturday morning can mean only one things, yep a new challenge at Allsorts and this week Tracy is our host and has the inspiring theme of 'Deco Delights' and our sponsors are The Craft Barn and DigiDarla.

This was a perfect opportunity for me to use one of the lovely Art Deco stamps from FlonzCraft, this one is is called 20's Fashion Girls 6 which I stamped and coloured with watercolour pencils and stamped Art Impression cobbled path to ground them and a few leaves across the top. I was a bit stumped for backing DP as I had nothing that really fitted the geometric style prints of the eara, but I managed to find a free download of a Art Deco inspired William Morris wallpaper. A few feathers and a beaded pin following some jewellery images I found from the 20's.

Now for this weeks candy giveaway, a pack of ten elegant tent cards and envelopes.

And the winner of last weeks candy is Aud - her Thursday comment came out of the hat, please mail me with your full postal addy Aud so I can get your stamps posted off to you.

And for those of you who missed last weeks post, I am giving away a craft item every week with the winner selected at random from all comments left during the week, more than one comment, extra chances to win. here's all you need to do:

1) Pop the logo above to your blog sidebar and leave a comment this week
2) And I would love it you were a follower (but no candy only blogs - I do check)

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and will find time to join in this weeks challenge.

  33. The flower wiht the beaded pin looks absolutely perfect for those two ladies. Your cobbled path is delightful & I like your inclusion of those feathers which makes the whole rather decadent & certainly harking back to the 20s/30s era.

  34. Hello Brenda, I'm back from Dorset where we've had snow, warm sunshine and extremely heavy, freezing rain so it's nice to be home. All your makes since my last comment are gorgeous - especially the poppy ones and today's is no exception. I love the way you made this flower and used the feathers. I must make some more cards now to post. Hope you are feeling better, Pauline xx

  66. Hi Brenda,
This is a really lovely card, love the lace and the papers and all the embellishments but the image is not really my thing, but I can appreciate the work and the time that has gone into this card, the colouring is brilliant. I should also advise you that I am totally adverse to butterflies on cards, while I adore them in real life some of them on cards are dire.
I have just started to follow you, I don't know why it has taken me so long, because you do beautiful work.
I have not followed you because of your candy, I will not be entering into it. Also as with you, no doubt, you have things that you like and don't like, and I do not like to lie, if I have to comment on a card I try to praise the things that I do like and avoid the things that are not for me. Wouldn't do for us all to like the same things.BUT one thing I am totally with you is the Poppies.

Would just like to say thanks for your comments on my entries this month on the various challenges and to say thanks for the tip on Virgin insurance, I have actually taken out an insurance for just the cruise only with P&O but will be searching for a new quote for 12 months World wide when we get back. My Hubby said just to go for that for now so we didn't miss the deal as it was originally £1259 and it was on offer for £699
I think that they ask if you are going on a cruise now is because of the Costa Cruise's mishaps and the fact that that a few have been claiming for the D&V virus, but it is not the cruise lines fault,it is the passengers that won't admit it.
I have high blood pressure, under control and my Hubby has had a TIA but none of these warrant such a high rise in the price, well they didn't last year so why should they now.

  71. What a lovely art deco image! You have done a great job finding that William Morris paper to download.
I took a little offense to one of the comments above and just wanted to say that I enjoy all cards...there is always an element of every card I view that I like and I chose to comment on those points. If there is something in a card that doesn't appeal to me, I keep it to myself...my Mum taught me if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it! This was a bit of advice that has worked well for me in my life...
So just wanted to add, please don't feel bad about any commenters need for negativity in the guise of being truthful!!!
