Another tropical shore

Good morning to you all, how's the weather your way ? I've seen snow in March before, but never in the volume we seem to have had the last few days and it's not in any hurry to shift. And there was me thinking it's almost Easter so it must be Spring.

I have my mid month inspiration for Craft a Scene challenge where the March them is 'Tropical Shores', I am not actually on the DT any longer as I decided to step down, but I already had this months work prepared so would like to share it and remind people about the challenge.

I would also like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has joined in my Blog Celebration so far, I am totally overwhelmed by the beautiful and varied creations and humbled by the great efforts to which you have all gone to create such special pieces of artwork. I know there are still some of you planning to join in and as I said in my initial post I am going to let it run for another week or two yet.

My card uses in the main stamps from Stampscapes, although the sentiment is from Printworks and the surfer image one I had specially made to make cards for for our second eldest son who is a keen surfer. I first stamped the images and reflection in the water then masked a sun before adding colour with Pan Pastels and a bit of shading with watercolour pencils.

As always thanks for popping in with your kind comments and hope you have a good week.

  18. We have sunshine at least this morning - I can remember my Mum taking the 1998 Easter Sunrise Morning Service midst snow! Thanks for a little longer - trying to get mine done, even attempting inky background but husband caught me 'red-handed' .....his words not mine.
Love your scene - the silhouette looks super walking into the summery scene.

  27. Sorry to hear you had to step down from Craft a Scene.
    I know you're busy!
I wanted to play along, but I don't have any palm trees to make it a tropical scene.
I've thought about how I can do it, must have more on my mind, cause it hasn't happened!
    I'll play next time!
Your card is wonderful, you make such great scenes!

  44. Loving your tropical scene Brenda. Wouldn't it be nice to be somewhere warm and sunny just now. Not that we've had much snow here this year. It's incredibly cold this last while but hardly any snow. Bit of a shower when I was on my way to the Guild tonight but it hasn't come to anything. Not far from here though there have been drifts and blocked roads. We have been very lucky! The pictures and stories from Arran and south west Scotland are horrifying and I know that some parts of England have had it really bad too. Fingers crossed it improves soon. I could see lights in various sheds at the farm next door when I came home tonight so they're obviously lambing. I used to hate it when the weather was nasty at lambing time. You're caught between having them inside and lambs dying with various lamb diseases or outside getting wet and cold and of course doing what sheep are best at - dying!

    Take care,

    Kat xx

  51. Beautiful tropical scene Brenda, it's a little break from looking at snow. It's going to take a couple of weeks before ours melts away. With a little luck, my shrubs will be uncovered enough in a week so that I can get started in the gardens (we have many). Take care, Shirleyx

So I've been taking a back look at your wonderful creations and of course unsurprisingly they are all amazing. 66. This is gorgeous Brenda. Love the colours and double panes and that surfer image is such a perfect finishing touch. I'm enjoying a quiet day today and I have actually spent the morning having coffee out on the (north-facing) kitchen terrace with some neighbours. The thermometer on my office terrace (also north-facing) reads 20 °C and there's not a cloud in sight, so you won't hear me complaining about the Greek weather. Wishing you lots of sunshine, too!
