Too cute to spook

Good morning Peeps, time for another challenge at Allsorts where Debs has chosen the theme 'Too Cute to Spook'.

I realised after I finish my card above that it's pretty similar to one I did last week although this one doesn't have mountains but does have an extra tree and little owl so I figure a little bit different. I guess it's not really cutie spooky and I was a bit stuck what to do so went with the Chocolate Baroque stamp sheet again and Pan Pastels.

Then I remembered I had a Penny Black stamp stashed away somewhere so fished it out and came up with a second card, watercoloured the image and added a few spiders. I do like the traditional Halloween colour palette of orange and purple and always think it's a bit of a shame that we don't indulge in the Halloween spirit in the same way as our American friends.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

  11. Thef irst is my favourite with those interesting spidery details hanging from the trees & the gorgeous muted colours. I must admit black mauve & orange are amongst my favourites too & in the second one that cheeky witch is beatifully elegant (!!) with her black lace - just imagine her wearing suspenders underneath - almost thought I saw one round her ankle then realized 'twas the cat's tail. Great fun.

  12. I just love those scenes you create, Brenda, and I love the orange, purple and black colour scheme. Too bad I did not grow up with Halloween traditions, or I would be creating lots of "cute" Halloween cards using this colour combo.

  14. These are gorgeous Brenda, love the cute and spooky one .. and yes me too thought it was similar to mountains card, but that is because you used again the castle stamp, which I don't blame you for doing that as its lovely and perfect for a Halloween card :) Wishing you a nice weekend. 24. These are lovely Brenda, I do like the colours in the first card but I cannot say I am keen on all the spiders!! We are plagued by Cobweb spiders which are OK if they stay in the corners of the ceiling but they have a nasty habit of abseiling down in front of one's face!! Pauline xx
