It's Amanda's turn to host the theme at Allsorts this week and she has another recipe for us.
I have used one of the new stamps from Animal Spirit, by artist Sue Coccia. After stamping and embossing the butterfly I coloured with Copics then simply mounted onto a piece of Bo Bunny DP which I stamped round the edges with Hero Arts 5042K, adding some ribbons and a flower which I made from two coordinating pieces of DT........honest there are three different ones to fit the theme.
Also a share of another sample I did for Ruth at Passion for Stamps, if you've not checked out her lovely stamps yet, you really should, I am loving all the florals. As lots of your know, I love paper piecing and am finding the Nitwits DPs's run through my printer beautifully, so that's what I have used here, along with a bit of inking and sponging on the background. The butterfly is also one of Ruth's images which I reduced in size and printed on the same DP.

Two gorgeous cards!! Your butterfly is amazing and I love the paper pieced poppy and butterfly, Ruth x
ReplyDeleteFlowers & Butterflies - what more could a girl want? They tick my boxes too. That butterfly is an absolute stunner & I love the big flower - it looks almost like a pine cone that has folded itself outwards. The colours are just lovely with the pastels mingling in with the paper. Love the idea of stamping round the edge like that - utterly effective. As you've gathered I got a bit carried away by your creation.
ReplyDeleteI do like that butterfly in the second one & the flower is a delightful piece of paper piecing (uh oh perhaps I'd better sign off before I make even further blunders with this English language.......
Much love

Beautiful cards yet again, Brenda. The butterfly is just exquisite - I didn't even realise that it was a stamped image to begin with and your stamped background makes a perfect foil for the butterfly. I love Ruth's flowers too but never considered printing onto DP for piecing so thanks for sharing such a good idea. Elizabeth x

ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely visit Brenda...it was so nice to see your name. The butterfly on your first card is just stunning and I love the card you have added it too. The second card is terrific too. Been very chilly over my way...we actually have had our jumpers out and they are staying out for a while....bit of a novelty as we normally get two days of cold. Have a wonderful day.
