Olive among the Flowers

Note added: Tentatively posting this as had blogger issues, Google/Blogger have been very helpful and thought issue was solved but apparently not. I'm not getting any notification on my reading list when you post so my visits will be hit and miss, likewise seems I'm not on your lists.

Morning all, new challenges at We Love Stamping and Stamping Sensations. Also a heads up that AALL and Create are offering a 15% discount throughout May to celebrate Allsorts 17th Birthday, the code is on the challenge blog here

There's an animal thing going on and at WLS Pinky has selected All Creatures Great and Small with a prize from AALL and Create and at Stamping Sensations Anesha has selected Cute Animals with a prize from Highlight Crafts.

Many of you will have seen the announcement at Stamping Sensations on Friday, but for those who missed it the challenge is closing and the May one will be out last. It was a very tough decision having started it in April 2010, but as lots know I've not been at my best the last few months and after a further MRI last week seems surgery to pin my cervical spine is inevitable. So sadly Stamping Sensations is closing and I've also left my DT spots at MAWTT and Love to Craft. We Love Stamping, Allsorts and Tag-Along (and ATC's) will continue as usual.

Above a card I've made fort Granddaughter-in law's Birthday coming up shortly, she not into craft and blogs so safe to post. Masked the side, used AALL and Create Mans Best Friend which is perfect as they have a black Lab called Olive, A&C's new Starfall Rays stencil along with the top of a Lavinia Tree and Wild Flowers, the sentiment from the latest release is perfect as her name is Faith.

One from my files made with a ready inked background when I was experimenting with the then new Spin tool. Lavinia Honeysuckle, a few extra leaves and Minni and Moo dancing to the Music.

Finally my CCC card which went to Madja in Slovinia and I received one in lovely sunny colours from Kathy in the UK. Using the spin tool and Lavinia mini stamps I created a partial wreath, sponged the requisite colours of Peony, White and Leaf, Long Ears in the form of my Favourite Hare Lupin looking up at the Birdie, Spring colours and word from A&C.

I'll leave you with the garden this week and Thursday/Friday's awesome moon, starting with Ceanothus, followed by Phothinias (Red Robin), White Iris, Wisteria and that moon.

And to finish yet another clear up of cones, there's a never ending supply and the girls (Labs) spend hours watching them drop then charge about distributing them all over the garden. We load into the trailer then use the tractor mower to take to the fire heap, they burn well!

Have a good Sunday.

  5. All beautiful cards, love the personalised one for your GIL, all the stamps especially Lupin. Love the beautiful white Iris -mine are not in flower yet and fabulous pics of the Moon, I am always messaging eldest Grandaughter about views of the moon as she does affirmations and has all her crystals out. Good luck with the surgery and a full recovery.

  6. All the cards are beautiful, fabulous stamps, stamping and lovely colour combos, particularly love the one for your granddaughter, with Olive in the dappled sunshine admiring the wild flowers, a fabulous combination of Lavinia and A&C.

  7. I'm playing a bit of catch up this morning Brenda, and I'm glad I didn't miss this post. (It hadn't yet shown up in my feed.) Those cards are really wonderful. I love the animals you added, especially Olive. And wow, you have blooms galore. They are amazing. Is the yellow and purple bush (well not a bush really) just one plant? I'm guess the purple had overgrown the yellow. And you have a fantastic moon shot too. We had clouds and rain yesterday which we need but there was no moon. And your pine cones remind me of my acorns. That's a whole lot of cones. Hope blogger gets fixed for you and have a fantastic week ahead. hugs-Erika

  13. Gorgeous cards Brenda, impossible to choose a favourite. The photos of your garden always look amazing. The cones reminded me of my teaching days, when I always had a plastic bag in my coat pocket in case I came across any cones, conkers or acorns etc for the 'Autumn' table in my Reception class. In the summer, the plastic bag was often filled with interesting shells.
It's interesting to read what you said about lack of notifications on your Reading List. I've had far fewer notifications recently, but had assumed that perhaps fewer people were crafting at the moment due to the better weather. I'll have to go and have a look at the blogs I follow to see what I've missed.

  18. I hope the blogger issues get resolved, it was odd that I had a separate sign in button, in a different place this morning, for me to leave a comment. Although, usually even though I’m signed in, it still makes me sign in again 🙄🙄🙄.
Beautiful cards for us, and stunning photos too, thank you.
I’m crossing everything for your good health xxx

  22. I'm sorry it's going to be surgery, Brenda. You just never get a break. I do hope it will be very successful and that recovery is smooth. Your cards are beautiful, as always! I adore the first one with the lab, the 2nd wreath is delightful and the CCC card is wonderful! Love your pictures and how fun that the labs make a game of the falling cones!
