White on White

Good Morning Peeps, it's a rainy one here in the Fens but hopeful it may brighten up later.

Time for another challenge at Allsorts where Wendy has chosen the theme of White on White, our sponsors are  Marianne Designs and Scrappers Delight.

It was a bit of a scary theme for me, not sure what it is about all white cards that scares me but I decided I would really challenge myself and make two. For the top one I stamped a Penny Black Poinsettia several times onto vellum and heat embossed with detail white powder before cutting out and decoupaging. Some die cute holly, cord layered across the inside of the aperture and some ribbon.

This is a little overdue, a card which I should have blogged yesterday for my mid month Penny Black and More piece and more inky fun. A background created by 'stamping' with an acrylic block.........this one has guidelines in it and gives a nice almost linen effect.............inked with distress inks and a spritz of water and then over stamped with the lovely First Dance lily which was also inked with distress markers and a liberal spritz of water before stamping. Then simply matted and layered, a punched border and ribbon.

On this card the Penny Black butterflies were also stamped onto acetate and heat embossed with detail white and arranged onto an embossed panel and lots of swirly pearls added.

Hope your weekend is a good one whatever you have planned.

  27. Hi Brenda, finally some time for blogging. School's closed now, so I'm off from work, woop woop!! I never thought I would say this, but I wish we could have some rain here! It's so hot, keeping doors and windows closed just to keep the heat out. They say it will rain tonight but it will not really cool off, so that's no use! Anyhow, you've made some lovely stylish cards here! So pretty all that white!! I've totally gone off making cards. Doing only mixed media these days, and thouroughly enjoying it. Hugs Frea

  56. The white on white cards are stunning. Love the string arranged in the fan shape! Brilliant idea..
The inky card is lovbely too...beautiful colours on that one!

We arrived at the lake just before teatime yesterday and I sorted out the bunkhouse so as to fit my paper supplies in long drawers that slide manually under thebed! Why didn't I think of this earlier...so much more room. When I wan tto work, I will pull them out and lift then onto the bed. We have several sets of companny coming in the next few weeks so this allows more room for the them use the furniture drawers for their things. I was hogging the drawers with my supplies.

DH built a shed up here last month and it paid double joy for me as those boxes under that bed used to hold tools and also BBQ supplies!
