Flowers to brighten the day

Morning Peeps, so what's this weather all about ? We saw a glimpse of sun Saturday and ever since nothing but rain.

The meadows have grown like triffids, but it's just too wet to get the hay cut, last year it was the opposite, no rain so it was sparse. Bit it still ends up with the same result, the price of hay going through the roof. At this rate it will cost more to feed the horses than the family.

Since our holiday crafting has been on real go slow and my mojo is nowhere to be found, the few bits of crafting that I have managed to complete are DT pieces so not for sharing yet, so these are a few samples I have made for Ruth, A Passion for Stamps which I had not blogged before. You will find all of Ruth's lovely images here

For the card at the top I printed the image into printable acetate, then laid that onto one side of a piece of double sided adhesive sheet. But before doing that I prepared the reverse side of the adhesive sheet by laying on a piece of tissue which I first scrunched up, inked with distress inks and added some glitter. The roses were then coloured with Copics thought the tissue...........if you place it against a light or window you can see the image clearly and don't be afraid of tearing the tissue, it's very resilient.

The blue card has a background created with a mask, I inked the mask with versamark, laid a piece of card stock over then ran it through the Grand Calibur, removed the mask and brushed perfect pearls to reveal the pattern. The image is paper pieced with BoBunny DP, a bow made from seam binding and a little chipboard bird which I inked with distress inks.

My final share is another paper pieced card using snippets of DP, over a background inked with distress inks and stamped with a script stamp and some random inking using a piece of sequin waste.

Hope you have a good Wednesday and if you are in the UK, don't let the rain get you down, perhaps we will have Summer in December ?

  6. Morning Brenda, So frustrating this weather, have parks laden with grass too, waiting to be cut. Even if it dries up, have to wait for the ground to firm up so not to damage the ground too much. Hope we'll soon be basking in the Sun lol! Nevermind your cards make up for the lack of Sun, all beautiful, since I'm a blue kinda person, I'm drawn to it, love everything about it. Have two man cards to get done, like now, not progressing very quick. Carolxx

  10. A wonderful array - we have triffids growing too & the little birds are having a real feast in our compost heap. My favourite of these is the final one - it just took my breath away with the red coupled with the pale green against the white. The delicate ribbon ties (OUCH) the bunch together beautifully.

  25. Stunning cards Brenda. Each one is so elegant and stylish and the colour of each one is beautiful. I love them all. Certainly cheered up my day! Yet another foggy day here in coastal Aberdeenshire. Wet too. I'm just off to walk the dogs and I think all three of us will be very wet.

Our neighbour at the farm has cut silage and like most around here is later than usual and having trouble getting it in. The sheep aren't even clipped yet, poor things. On the other hand they might be glad to still have their coats!

  33. Hi Brenda. I can't imagine what the price of hay is these days. I sometimes paid £3 per bail back in the eighties - it must be a nightmare even thinking about the cost.
I'm sure your mojo will spring into action soon - meanwhile it's a good chance to see some of the work you haven't had a chance to blog before. I love the tissue technique on the top card - it gives a really lovely effect and whoever gets it will probably be wondering how on earth it was done.
Thank you for sharing these fab cards.

  40. Wow what a selection of beautiful cards Brenda. Even though one is pink I still can't say which one would be my favourite. I have heard you are safer getting your tooth out than have a root canal as you always feel pain even though the nerves have been removed:( I am dreading Tuesday. Hope you don't have anymore bother with yours.
