Seeing Red

Still reliant on the good nature of Mr Blogger and hoping this pops up as scheduled, but (boo hoo) we are now on the last leg of our holiday on route to Paris where we are spending a few days before arriving home this coming week.

Helene would like us to Make a Red Card at Allsorts this week, so it's poppies from me again in the form of Hero Arts CL449. I masked the top and bottom of my card, then stamped Hero Arts S5316 silhouette grass with TH sage, then stamped the poppies with Adirondack dye ink red pepper. With the masks still in place, I lightly sponged the top and bottom edges with the same ink.

On a piece of plain smooth cardstock I stamped the poppies several times with versamark and embossed with detail clear and then brayered over the whole piece from which I cut out several poppies to decoupaged and also the panel. The sentiment is Darkroom Door.

  9. A stunning use of the red & white with masterful use of red's complementary green - terrifically subtley effective (can you tell it excited me?). Love the play with red & white reversing - just utterly intriguing & inspiring example. Thank you so much.

  31. Amazing card - fantastic job of the layering and the poppies looks gorgeous!

Sorry to hear about your 'not so welcome' arrival home - how awful and I bet the smell was just terrible - ick! Hope that your jewellery will be returned - you must be so upset about it. I am sure that having Mr Linky go nuts was the last straw - but here's hoping that all is OK with Mr Linky now.
