Bridges and Statues


Your next clue in the candy run.......details of how to enter at the top of my blog.......is to guess the City we will be visiting as we pass under the bridge in the picture above.

It's one of the largest suspension bridges in the World and spans the Tagus River, it is an almost carbon copy of the Golden Gate Bridge. Alongside it is The Statue of Christ Cristo Rei, a replica of the Statue of Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado in Rio de Janiero. Now this one is really easy isn't it ?

We've been here lots of times so this year we will probably stay on the boat and take in the rays on our balcony, with the obligatory glass or two of something of course.

Another day at sea tomorrow so the next clue with be on Wednesday 28th when we will be getting all Colonial......there might be an advance clue there ?

    Lisbon having fun.
    I'm so jealous, I went over to Rome in a ferry once and it made me so ill from the moment we started sailing till we docked. It was no fun at all.

    O wow what a magnificent bridge, I just had to google about it, so interesting facts.. I was wondering why it was called the 25th of April, and that day is the day to celebrate the change in power on April 25, 1974 !!! I never been to Lisbon, .... yes for me the city is Lisbon too. Have fun there, I love to check where you are going next :)

    I googled and it was Lisbon, Portugal, I will be honest Brenda i'm really crap at geography so google is my best friend when it comes to places.

    He he Lisbon, I knew this because my Dad worked on strengthening the Ponte 25 de Abril - not single handedly of course but as Engineering Project Manager for Kvaerner construction (now Skanska) - lots of useless info there!!
