Summer Poppy Meadow

It's time for our challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are 'Anything with Flowers' and 'One for the Boys'. As always there are wonderful prizes to be won at both.

For my Stamping Sensation creation I have used an image from our sponsor Crafty Individuals CI276 Summer Poppy Meadow. The image is quite small so I repeat stamped it three times and also stamped some of the flowers again so I could decoupage a few. I coloured with Spectrum pencils and used Pan Pastels and a mask for the sky and finally added an Inkylicious sentiment and some birds.

My Penny Black share used a lovely image from them called Hidden Lane, I always think this image lends itself to becoming a coastal scene with the lane going down to the beach. I used distress markers direct to stamp spritzing with water before stamping, then added the background with Pan Pastels and also a little shading in front of the fence again using PP's. Finally I stamped some birds.

My final share is another one for Stamping Sensations using Crafty Inidivudals Spring Summer Garden stamp. I colored a piece of linen with Oxide Inks.............still loving them..........and then stamped the image with versafine and heat embossed with purple powder and coloured some of the flowers and leaves with the same inks. The Dragonflies are also from CI and heat embossed with the same powder. Some sparkly twine and mounted onto a purple base card.

As always we have some super prizes to be won and I do hope you will pop over to the challenge blogs to see the inspiration from my team mates.

Beautiful cards Brenda. I'm a great fan of Poppies and that first card just pops with that lovely burst of red. The Oxide inks on your second CI card work really well and I've never seen them look so delicate before, great idea to stamp on linen too. The Penny Black scene is one of my favourites and this is another stunner. Enjoy your day. Crafty hugs, Sandra x

Wow, Brenda I had to blow up your summer meadow to see how you made the joints and decoupaged some of the flower heads. The effect is so good, I didn't realised at first sight it was a repeat stamping (though I did recognise the CI stamp instantly). I love the Penny black lane too, funny it can be a sizzling summer day or a snowy winter one!) and your linen card is lovely and subtle. xx

Three stunning designs, as usual, Brenda. The first one has a gorgeous summery feel and is a great representation of your blog header! I really like the more muted colours of the second, very soft and serene, and love the third as you've used my favourite CI flower stamp! Hadn't thought of using the Oxides on fabric, great idea. Another one for my things to try file!

I love the perspective in your cards. Feels like I'm looking right into a lovely scene. It is amazing how you have mirrored the poppy scene from an actual photo. So much talent. And the sentiment is perfect.
