Coffee and Cream Roses

Happy New Year !!

It's time for our first challenges of 2017 at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes 'Coffee and Cream' and 'Anything Goes'. As always there are wonderful prizes to be won at both.

My Coffee and Cream share is another recent Chocolate Baroque make, this time using CB Harlequin Rose stamp and Rose Stem Script in the background. I stamped both the focal element and the base layer with versafine and heat embossed with detail clear. I then inked with DI's and buffed up with a soft cloth. Some ribbon and pearls and finito.............looking at it in the photo the scrip looks a bit lop sided but you will have to believe me it looked fine in the flesh.

And a heads up that Chocolate Baroque will be having their very first Hochanda shows this Wednesday 4th January at 11pm and 5pm. I am going to pop over to see Parsnip and Miss Di at the Playground with this one, start the year as I intend to go on and fingers crossed no detentions.

My Penny Black share uses PB Passionate and Special Wishes for the sentiment. I started by sponging DI through a stencil to create a subtle background and then inked the flower with distress pens, spritzed with water and stamped, added the sentiment and matted and layered onto dark blue cardstock.

I do hope you will join our challenges this month.

Both are just elegant & beautiful. Especially love the 'spotlight' of this gorgeous rose, and of course the coffee & cream colors are just really regal appearing. The soft sunshine of the stenciling in #2 with the gorgeous blue floral - just so calming to see, as well as beautiful. Hope that 2017 is a happy & healthy 2017, with fewer issues for you. Big hugs & thanks for all your visits and sweet comments. TFS

Two beautiful cards Brenda and I have the rose stem script stamp myself but have never used it in the background which works really well and the harlequin rose for the focal image cut with an oval die looks wonderful too, and love the coffee and cream combination. The PB flower stamped using a DI pen looks so pretty and the coverage is perfect, and the soft yellow stencilling in the background enhances it perfectly. I hope you had a good Christmas and wishing you a Happy New Year. x

How gorgeous these are, Miss B! While both floral fantasies really are amazing, I am smitten with your coffee and cream creation. Such softness, peacefulness, gentleness exuded in this combination of layers, and the repeat image/technique. Really gorgeous! Hoping all is going well for you, Brenda. I had an exacerbation on Dec 23, and have not come out of it yet. I'm in what I call "force mode", where I force myself to do a lot of different things. I can't keep my mind on any one thing very much, so I just keep plugging along all day, doing things in tiny increments, and getting much accomplished, even though I feel like I can barely move. Not whining, just sayin' that's where I am - hoping it is not permanent, but then, we never know, right?

loving you,
de

Two more gorgeous cards Brenda. I taped the two Chocolate Baroque shows and managed to watch them both today and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed them. Lesley is the sort of crafter who I could watch all day, and it was lovely to see your first beautiful card being shown at the end of the show. The stamps were lovely and you've definitely worked your magic with the Rose one. Crafty hugs, Sandra x
