Dance, Sing, Love

Time for our monthly challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are Feature a Creature and Add a Sentiment.

The card at the top uses my all time favourite stamp Penny Black Dance, Sing , Love, I use it time and again and make no excuses that it pops so often on my blog as I think it is such a happy and uplifting quote.

A year on and I am still exploring my sewing machine that hubby bought for my Birthday last year and just discovered this pretty embroidery style stitch, it's not an expensive or fancy machine but does have a few nice features. So after stitching around the edges of a piece of cream cardstock I stamped the sentiment and embossed with detail clear powder. The flowers and leaves are Tattered Lace Trio sets which I cut from card spritzed with Dylusions and Glimmer Mist and then stamped the centre's with the matching Trio stamp set. A pretty organza bow made on the Embellishment Attic bow maker and ribbon slide to finish.

My stamping Sensations piece is a Fathers Day card I made for our daughter to give her Dad back in June. I masked the central oval and stamped a variety of stamps from Inkylicious, Lavinia, Art Impressions and Clarity and with the mask still in place used Pan Pastles to create the background of the scene. The poppies were inked with distress markers, the sentiment with archival black and the finished piece matted an layered on to a large landscape base cut from a sheet of A3 cardstock.

I do hope you will join in our challenges this month, as always we have some fabulous prizes to be won.

Both such lovely cards Brenda. The stitching is perfect on the first one and those flowers are just gorgeous together with that fabulous quote.
You are so good at creating such atmosphere with your inks and the oval frames those bunnies perfectly. Have a good Sunday xx

The Father's day card is so perfectly stamped and the hills and sky delicately coloured, just beautiful! I need to check my sewing machine, I think it has a similar stitch I could use. (I obviously don't use it enough if I can't remember what it can do!). xx

Such pretty cards Brenda.
I don't blame you for using that stamp over and over as it is a fabulous one.
How did you find sewing onto card with your machine ?
The hubster bought me one for Christmas and so far all I have done is make a pink and white polka dot seat cover for my mobility scooter.
Bit wonky but I am proud of it lol

Good morning Brenda
Beautiful cards today. I especially like the sing quote on the first card - such a useful stamp for many different occasions. I have been watching the Tattered Lace weekender with interest. The flowers are gorgeous. I am off to the Doncaster show next weekend and am hoping to be able to get a set there, one I have decided which is my favourite.
I have ordered my new laptop which should be with me on Tuesday. Hooray then I can get back to the world of blogging. At least I can concentrate on some crafting instead.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Two truly gorgeous cards, I love the embroidery around the edge of the first one and the second's scene and that's stunning poppies really appeals to me in all ways!
I wanted to pop on over and say thank you Brenda - the comment you left me this morning, well how do I put this politely, you made me smile big! I'm experimenting more than I used to and I think my cards show that fact perfectly.
I've stopped worrying about if others like what I create or not. I am creating for me and creating with supplies, tools and stash that I love. I've still got lots of paper (VOS) and that doesn't often inspire me and I don't always want to use it. I'm going to have to give more paper and old embellishments away but I don't mind that fact anymore lol.
Thank you for that lovely comment it's nice to hear that crafters that I admire a lot like what I'm creating too Karen xx

Each card is just so lovely, and those sentiments are simply heartfelt and wonderful. Something to truly ponder, and also something to 'live by' and life would be much happier if we did. I am especially taken with your embroidery border. I keep saying I will try that, as I used to machine embroidery & quilting in another hobby! I love your gorgeous floral bouquet and the woodland oval scene done with the fab Lavinia stamps and pastels is breathtaking. TFS & hugs.
