A little bit CAS and Monday candy

Happy Monday Peeps, time for this weeks Prickly Pear and Nicecrane DT pieces and of course this weeks candy.........and stamp re-housing, it wasn't my intention to make this a regular thing but it seems lots of you really like the idea. In the days when I did lots more demos and classes I gathered far more stamps than I know what to do with and some were used for just one or two classes, so it pleases me that some are going to new homes rather than gathering dust in my craft drawers.

It's a bit of a CAS card I think, using the Lovebird on Vine image from Prickly Pear stamped into a circle aperture and shaded with Pan Pastels, an embossed panel at the bottom and some ribbon and gems.

My Nicecrane piece this week uses another new image from the Frank Haviland Women design sheet. I have been wanting to try a criss cross card for ages so set to work with the scoreboard and a sheet of A3 cardstock and found I got two nice sized cards for the sheet. Graphic 45 DP's with some stamping arond the edges, lace, ribbons dies cut swirls and flowers and  I rather like the finished result.

This weeks candy is a sweet little Sarah Kay image called Susie Ponders and the stamp is Hero Arts. The winner of last weeks embellishments is Jem from Wednesday's post and the Hero Arts stamp is being re-homed with Kathleen from Saturday's post. Please both mail me with your full postal addy's so I can send your goodies.

Here's what you need to do to be in with a chance of wining...............

Hope you have a good Monday everyone.

Elegant 50's fashion and Lets Create flowers

A scheduled post here at we are out for the day with one of the boys and his partner so fingers crossed this appears on time Saturday morning for our new challenge at Allsorts where our theme is 'Use those dies', something I think most of us have in abundance. Our sponsors are our DT Jo who as well as featuring regularly on Create and Craft also runs a craft store Lets Create and our second sponsor is FlonzCraft.

I have used one of my favourite FlonzCraft images 50's Fashion Girl 10, which I have paper pieced with Graphic 45 DP's and mounted onto a Spellbinder frame. I used the same DP for the back panels, some lace, die cut leaves and a handmade rose which I stamped with scrip and dipped into UTEE.

This one uses one of Jo's own range of Lets Create Vintage stamp images, the card is one of the samples I made for Jo some time age using Graphic 45 DP's, Spellbinder dies and paper pieced and decoupled the flowers. It's fairly simple but I think the image is so lovely it needs little more. There are six packs of clear stamps in this range and all stamp out beautifully crisp.

Happy weekend all.

Galloping along the beach

Happy Wednesday Peeps, how's the weather your way ? A bit of a mixed bunch here this week, frosts, rain and a little bit of sunshine in-between but distinctly chilly.

A really quick post before work with a share of a bit of inky fun using a selection of Stampscapes, Sutter and Art Impression stamps and of course Pan Pastels for all the colouring.

Have a good day and catch you all very soon.

Monday candy, a touch of fantasy and Calla Lilies

It's Monday again which must mean candy time and my DT pieces for Prickly Pear and Nicecrane Designs.

I really like the Calla Lily stamp from the Prickly Pear Spring releases and have used it in several different colourways, this time below in peach stamped onto a Cheery Lynn frame and a sentiment from the Easter Cross 2 set. The edges were shaded with Pan Pastels.

Using Large Calla Lily and Easter Cross 2 clear set

During the last week I have been lucky enough to play with another new release from Nicecrane, this time from the Edwardian Lady range here which takes me back many years to when it was so popular and we had some M&S bedlinen featuring the designs. For the creation at the top of mu post I combined some of the images from this sheet with one of the Fairies and also an Elf from another design sheet, sponged a sun with Pan Pastels, added some stamped wheat and leaves to the frame which I made on the scoreboard and used a arch die to cut the aperture. The toadstools and Elf have all been decoupaged and a TH branch bird and tie across the top.

The winner of last weeks paper pad candy is Dora from Wednesday's post and the House Mouse stamp is being re-homed with Debbie from her comment on Saturday's post, please both mail me with your full postal addy before Saturday 29th so I can get them in the post.

It seemed you quite liked the idea of me re-housing some of my stamps (as explained before some have been used a few times) so as well as the collection of ribbons and embellishments this week I would like to re-home this lovely Hero Arts stamp - if you are not interested in the stamp please mention in your comment.

To be in with a chance of receiving either of these this is what you need to do...................
  • Post my Monday Candy Poppy logo on your blog sidebar with a link to my blog.
  • Leave a comment on any post between now and next Monday.....comments on two posts and names go into the draw again and so on.

Feeding birds

Tracy would like us to concentrate of the guys at Allsorts with the them of All about the Boy. Our sponsors are DigiDarla and Craft Fairy.

Apologies for the lack of visits the last day or two but it's been head down preparing for samples to go back across the pond and also an upcoming Create and Craft programme.

I have used another new design from Nicecrane along with yet more colouring in, two coloured images in one week has to be a first for me. The birds and nest image really appealed to me and is of course very seasonal with all the birds busily nest building in the hedgerows. And I knew I had a perfect Stampendous sentiment to go with it which I stamped into the centre. I distressed all the edges and shaded with Pan Pastels, added some twine and a couple of hinges using TH hardware findings die.

We have a multitude of wild birds in the gardens and yesterday I tried to get a few photos as it was such a lovely sight seeing so many in one place underneath one of the bird feeders, the Robins being very territorial usually chase the Yellowhammers and Tits away, but on this occasion he was too busy feeding. My camera is not great for distance shots, but you get the idea.

We have more than our share of Bullfinches who are such pretty birds. We have also sighted a pair of Honey Buzzards overhead, last year the were quite south from their usual habitat over the villages between here and Peterborough, but looks like they have moved even further south and are a lovely sight with their huge honey coloured wing spans, hence their name.

And finally the beautiful rainbow across the paddocks yesterday, I was unable to get a wide enough shot to capture it all in one photo but it was one of the most vivid I have ever seem, sadly neither end was in our grounds so I didn't bother going out to dig for the pot of gold !

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Reach for the Stars

Morning to you all, this is the post that was scheduled for yesterday but for some reason didn't pop on as planned along with the one on the Penny Black and More blog, I got that one sorted but only just got round to sorting my own blog as we had to rush off the to vet with Holly who is poorly.

So a little later than planned here is my mid month piece for Penny Black and More following our So Sweet theme. More lovely Graphic 45 DP's, Spellbinder card creators and two Penny Black stamps 4078K Reach for the Starts and  the matching sentiment 4075K For the Stars. It's all rather girly and pretty pretty for me but I actually quite like it.

Hope you all have a good Wednesday.

Monday candy and House Mouse looking for new home

Hello all you lovely Peeps, time for my weekly DT piece for Pricky Pear and Nicecrane Designs plus Monday Candy of course.

For my Prickly Pear piece I have used the Easter Crosses 2 clear stamp set, stamping one of the four crosses from the set into the aperture and heat embossing with a pink powder. The lily is made using Tonic punch and stamp Lily set and the leaves which are cut on Coredinations is a Cheery Lynn die.

Now for one using an image from the Flower Children design sheets from Nicecrane, some Kaiser DP, die cut corner and stars and some tags onto which I stamped a sentiment - half on each tag.

The winner of the Art Deco goodies from last week is Kevin from his comment on Thursday's post, congratulations Kevin please mail me with your full postal addy so I can send them off.

This weeks I have a paper pack, I have the pad and found it useful year round. Also a House Mouse stamp looking for a new home - it's a biggie but not brand new and has been stamped a few times, but I figured may be more use to someone else than sitting in by stamp draws. If you are not interested in the stamp please just mention in your comment.

To be in with a change of winning this is what you need to do......

Pretty in Pink

At Allsorts this week our lovely Sarah is going all Pretty in Pink, one I think will appeal to lots of us. Our sponsors are A Passion for Stamps and Nicecrane Designs

As I am a DT for both of our sponsors I have combined products from both on my cards, the images on both are new ones from Nicecrane Designs (links below). I love the pretty flower fairy on the top card with the lovely contrast of deep green and pink, printed her onto white cardstock and then used Pan Pastels to add some background and stamped some Lavinia flowers and tiny fairy. Some little handmade roses using the smallest petal punch from Ruth's Tonic Rose punch and stamp set and lace, the DP is from stash but I think may be Kaiser.

For my second card I broke the habit of a lifetime and did some colouring in as when I saw this image it reminded me of photos of a little girl growing up on a farm more years ago that I care to remember ! I coloured her with watercolour pencils and some Pan Pastels, added some ivy and roses.

Happy weekend all.

Spring Tulips

Good morning Peeps, we have quite a heavy fog here this morning but I am hopeful it will burn off and give way to a bit more sunshine as it's been glorious the last few days and hope you have had some of the same.

Just a quick share before I get stuck into the files sitting on my desk, the stamp is Penny Black which I stamped twice to decoupage the tulip blooms, some stitching round the edge of the back panel, a bow and flower, oh yes and Art Impression sentiment, fairly simple stuff but a hint of Springtime.

Hope you all have a good Thursday.

Monday candy and a freebie for everyone

Image from the Enchanted Spring Design Sheet, you can get this image for free by following the link further down this post

Morning crafty Peeps, time to share my Monday DT pieces for Prickly Pear and Nicecrane Designs, I have lots to tell you but will try and keep it as brief as possible.

Today sees the return on my weekly candy, but I have changed to day from Saturday to Monday, it will work exactly the same with a winner being randomly selected from the weeks comments, just the start and finish days will be different to previously. And I have designed a new logo for it which you can grab here.
Check out below what you need to do to be in with a chance of winning, also there is a free image further down kindly donated by Ignacio at Nicecrane Designs. It is one of the images from the Enchanted Spring set which you may have seen in my posts earlier in the week and I have also made another using it above.

Using Large Call Lily GG0188

For my Prickly Pear DT piece I have used a new Sizzix flip die, I saw it advertised the other day and decided to buy it, it's a little small to what I am used to and makes a 5" x 5" square card, but that fits perfectly for the size that PPRS like for their booth display boards. I used the lovely Calla Lily on the outside of the flip panel and the April Shorwers GG0188 sentiment on the reverse. The DP is Teresa Collins and I just added some punched borders, ribbon and pearls.

And just the one more share using another of the new Nicecrane fairy designs and a little experiment with the Sizzix die used above, I simply cut it twice, reversed the one on the right and joined in the centre and it gives a nice card roughly the size of an A5. The DP is BoBunny and the fairy poem is computer generated.

Taking a photo was a bit of a pain so a couple of close ups showing the sweet little fairies....aren't they cute, this from Mrs Non Cute I might add, also the Pan Pastel shading and a masked sun of course.

And here is the Enchanted Spring design.........................

This is your freebie which you can download here
