Retro Roses

Hello all, there's a new Stamp Addicts show on Create and Craft today at 2pm, I have not been able to make much in the way of new samples because stamping is still very difficult, but I do have a couple I made a while ago which I can share with you.

Just to update as lots of you have very kindly asked me how I got on with my results yesterday, well in some ways nothing new, three herniated disks in my lower back causing the constant pain and sciatica and lots of worn joints in my back and shoulder, the latter causing the cervical spondylosis. But on the positive side after some more blood tests and further MRI they are going to try some epidural treatment, I don't much like the sound of it but if it helps ease the pain has to be worth the discomfort of having it.

Onto the show and my cards, I know Sarah said the stamps for the show had been reduced by C&C, but I think the Retro Heart and Roses at the top is one of those that is still in the lineup. An old book, Dylusions. Frantage, paperpiecing and recycled corrugated form the basis of the card along with the stamp of course and two Lilies made with Tonic's Peruvian Lily set.

I would like to enter the top card for:

Inspired by Stamping - Embossed edges
Fab n Funky - Distressed
House that Stamps Built - Paper piecing

And the second card:

Moving Along with the Times - Anything but square

The blue one uses three of their images stamped and inked through masks.

Hope you all have a good Thursday.

I like the use of the corrugated card on the card. It gives a lovely rustic look. Hope you get on all right with your treatment. I have a hip joint problem which I have been having acupuncture for. The treatment helped a great deal but I am now caught up in the loop of funding so waiting for my next sessions to be authorised. hugs Mrs A.

I so feel for you Brenda. My mum developed sciatica beginning of this year. This has subsided a little for her after Bowen treatment. But she has more pain and was just that it was a couple of her vertabrate rubbing. I can see she is in pain, so can only imagine what you are going through. Glad you create these wonderful cards for us to see. :-) take care, hope the epidural treatment works.

I love the way your Peruvian Lilies echoe the flowers in the stamped heart. Red & kraft with white is such an interesting combination & I like how you've added a bit of bling but not OTT.
Take care of yourself & I'm glad that there is something that can be done to make you more comfortable.
Much love

Two really great cards, I must admit that I agree with the above comment, I just love those flowers.
Buying craft items is a bit like buying clothes, they are in fashion, then they go out of fashion and you throw them away, then they come back into fashion and you haven't got them anymore, ie. the ribbler.
Have a good weekend.

Two beautiful cards Brenda. I love the corrugated cardboard background in the first, and the masked images in the second are beautiful (nice touch matching the matting layers so well too!). So soryy to hear about your troubles stamping. That must be terribly frustrating. If you fancy crafting with printed images, it's worth checking out the Graphics Fairy's blog. You probably already know about her, but thought I'd let you know just in case. Also, the c&p system is working great, thanks for visiting me this week. Maddy x

That you can make anything at all that involves sitting at a table is nothing short of heroic, and I applaud your beautiful efforts! The embossed edges of the corrugated cardboard take this technique to a whole new level, and I LOVE it! I'm super inspired to try it myself! Very lovely look, and you did a fantastic job. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Inspired By Stamping!

Hi Brenda...playing catchup and so enjoying your cards!

I have had the epidural treatment three times. It worked fabulously he first time...cut my pain by half. For some people the pain releif can last for 6 months or a year...
My second gave more pain...no relief and the third was pretty good...maybe 30 % relief...then I finally had the surgery!

I pray you are as lucky as my first epidural...we call it Needle Guided Nerve Root Injection...but I think it is prolly the same. You get strapped to the table face down and they take an Xray or some kind of image and while they have the image on the screen, a machine then guides the needle to the right spot inside the spinal column...it is quite amazing and you can feel relief instantly as there is a freezing drug of course and then the others kick in gradually!

Good luck with it and prayers for pain relief for you.
